In the deeds registration system, the transfer document (the deed) itself is registered. The documents is lodged in register (registered deeds) as evidence of chain of transaction back to the valid title (chain of conveyance) [1]The deed does not prove the ownership and the chain of ownership has to be traced back either by lawyers or the land registration authority[2].
